Country of origin: Indonesia

Level: PhD studies, 1st year
Course: Electrical Engineering

Additional information: I am a foreign PhD student at Warsaw University Technology (WUT). This is my first year at this university, but I have been living in Poland for almost 5 years. My research interest is in Electrical Power Systems, Smart Grid and Renewable Energy. I also did the Erasmus+ study program (one semester) at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. I can speak a little bit of Polish, and now I am living in one of the Student Dormitories of WUT.
Why did I decide to study Electrical Engineering?
When I was a kid, I used to take apart broken electrical appliances and try to fix them. I have an interest in electricity and it makes me eager to learn electricity deeper. Moreover, I want to know and learn about state-of-the-art electrical technology systems today. That’s why I chose to study Electrical Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology (WUT), which is the best technical university in Poland.
Why did I decide to study in Poland?
I got a scholarship from the Polish Government to continue my education at the masters and doctoral levels. Even without scholarships, tuition fees in Poland are generally lower than in other European countries and the cost of living is not high as well. Education in Poland is also of good quality.
